Is Hyaluronic Acid Good For The Hair

Hyaluronic Acid is widely known when it comes to the skin especially the skin on the face. There are a number of brands with Hyaluronic Acid as their main ingredient in most of their skincare products

What is Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic Acid is a humectant used in products that helps to draw out water from its surrounding and also it can carry 1000 times its weight in moisture so a little used goes a long way.

Sometimes, what’s good for the skin may not be good for the hair but in this case, Hyaluronic Acid is loved by both. It is a ingredient for moisture and both the skin and hair need moisture. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally-occurring substance in skin but not in hair so hyaluronic acid will be a great addition to your hair regime especially if you have dry hair like me. There are a lot of skincare products now that are mostly hyaluronic acid but not so many of hair products.

Hyaluronic Acid is just as good for the hair as it is for the skin. It will help to attract moisture to the hair and the hair being dry will be at a minimal.

Hyaluronic acid is similar to a fertilizer because it can increase hair growth and the strand diameter (thicker hair).

  • After the HA is locked in with oil, the cortex of the hair will be able to attract moisture to the hair to keep it moisturised even when the hair shaft is dry.
  • It helps prevent the hair from thinning due to keeping the hair moisturised.

Hyaluronic Acid is becoming quite popular in the hair industry now that it is known for its amazing moisturising properties so get your hair some Hyaluronic Acid!
